Victoria

victoria is a very beautiful city, with a lovely harbour. there are some great shops in the city and the easiest way to see them and to get around is on one of the city bus tours, you can hop on and off these buses, take in the sites, shop, eat etc and hop back on again.
the museum in victoria is a must see, last year they had the titanic expedition on tour from halifax, we spent nearly a whole day looking around it!
the best way to get to victoria from vancouver is on one of the bc ferries which cross from vancouver to various parts of vancouver island, the trip is lovely and sometimes there are free lectures about marine life, sometimes you get to see whales and dolphins whilst crossing.

places to stay in vancouver

in vancouver we have stayed in a view different hotels, if you want somewhere that is quientisentially english try the best western abercorn hotel, the outside looks like a tudor mansion, recently we stayed in the travelodge which has a great restaurant

getting there

we have travelled to canada several different ways and with different airlines, we have found it is better to avoid heathrow and toronto, 2 years ago we didn't get our luggage until 2 days into the holiday as there had been thunderstorms and the place was backed up for 2 days.
this year we are flying directly to vancouver which is a lovely city

vancouver island

travelling in canada is one of the most wonderful experiences. the canadians are a very friendly bunch, the scenary is fantastic and the cost of living is cheap
over the years we have travelled to many parts of canada and this year are returning to port mcneil on vancouver island.
